Product Engineering

E-Commerce Platforms

Online stores where the checkout is treated as the product. Most e-commerce revenue is lost between the basket and the confirmation page, so that is where we spend the engineering — payment reliability, address handling, tax, and the tedious edge cases that quietly cost conversions.

What we do

  • Stripe, PayPal & local gateways
  • Inventory and order management
  • Subscriptions and B2B pricing
  • Conversion-focused checkout

What you end up with

  • A storefront with a measured, instrumented checkout
  • Payment, tax and shipping integrations that reconcile
  • Inventory sync with the system that owns stock
  • Analytics wired to the funnel, not just to pageviews

How an engagement runs

  1. 01

    Discovery & scope

A working session to map the problem, the constraints and the smallest thing worth building first.

  2. 02

    Architecture & design

System design, data model and interface work — reviewed with you before a line of production code exists.

  3. 03

    Build in two-week slices

Shippable increments every sprint, deployed to a staging environment you can click through.

  4. 04

    Launch & operate

Hardening, observability and an agreed support model. We stay on after go-live.

Questions we get asked

Shopify or custom?
Shopify or WooCommerce for a standard catalogue and checkout — there is no prize for rebuilding it. Custom when your pricing, fulfilment or B2B rules do not fit a product's model, which is more common in wholesale and manufacturing than in retail.
Can you sell across several countries?
Yes. Multi-currency, multi-language and per-jurisdiction tax are standard scope. For the EU we handle VAT and invoicing requirements as part of the build rather than as an afterthought.
